If you need a check-up on your teeth or your eyes (or both), here's how to register with a dentist and optician.
You should have regular check-ups with your dentist. As well as looking after your teeth, it ensures that you remain registered with your NHS practice.
Dental treatment is free to full-time students aged 18, as well as everyone under 18, those on qualifying benefits, women who are pregnant, or have had a child within 12 months.
Not got a dentist? If you have move to a new area e.g. have gone off to university or got a new job, then it's important that you register with a dentist.
To find your nearest dentist use go to the NHS 24 website.
How are your eyes doing? Think they’re okay, but not sure? Well, why not set your mind at ease by having your eyes tested by an optician about once every two years, even if you think you haven't got sight problems. Eyetests are free for all residents in Scotland. so it won't cost you a penny!
You can make an appointment to get your eyes tested at any opticians e.g Specsavers, Boots.
