Leith Records is a distribution channel for brand new Scottish music, curated by The Leith Agency, who are a creative agency that predominantly focus on advertising but also help to develop the local creative community.
The project relies on the collaboration and contributions of bands, musicians and listeners to keep the project going and to spread the word. It’s not actually a record label, and doesn’t make records, but it does strive to share and support the best of Scottish tunage.
What’s in it for musicians/bands?
The Leith Agency are donating album and poster design, music video storyboarding, album launch events and even the chance to be featured in TV ads created by Leith.
What’s in it for listeners?
Leith are actively seeking the newest musical talent in Scotland and sending tasters direct to email, Facebook, Twitter, and RSS readers of choice.
Leith also put on the occasional live showcase of bands featured on the site, and regular listeners and contributors will get first dibs on invites.
How do I submit a band or track?
Leith Records relies on contributions from bands, promoters and listeners, so get recording and send your tracks in.
The easiest way to submit something is to upload the track to Soundcloud, then drop the link in the comments sections on their website , along with around 100 words and your band/song and some links to your MySpace, Facebook and Twitter shenanigans.
