"SSS" is the co-ordinating body for all student sport & physical activity in Scotland.
We are a dynamic network of students, staff and volunteers who work in partnership to create positive opportunities and experiences through physical activity and sport, across Scotland's Universities and Colleges.
SSS manages the development of more than 35 sports in Scotland; working with 42 member Colleges & Universities to increase participation in sport and physical activity and improve the quality of services and facilities for students and staff. SSS also has representative teams in a total of 14 sports which play against the best university teams from England, Wales, Northern Ireland, Ireland and France.
The benefits of taking part in sport while studying are extensive. Student sport offers a platform to take part in either competitive or recreational sport, proven to improve health and fitness and enhance the student experience. Student sport also offers a unique opportunity to develop new friendships while assisting with academic attainment and experience.
Scotland's colleges and universities are encouraged to host a sports fayre in September to introduce all new students to the sporting opportunities available so keep your eyes peeled on your institution's website or visit the sports facilities.
